Baby Things

Looking for important baby items such as a crib, stroller, highchair...etc. is a bit overwhelming. I plan on waiting till I visit home to go shopping with sisters and Mom before I pick out the big items.

But...I am going to start a list of baby toys and books and I would love your input! I'm looking for things between 3 months - 2 years.

Hallmark recordable storybooks
Baby Einstein toys, books and dvd's
LEGO Duplo
Foam puzzle play mat
Dr. Seuss books
little tikes

  1. I think the imperative toy at our house has been a set of stacking cups. The one I got comes in a bucket and has shapes that fit in the lid as well. My Heidi is 15 months and has played with that toy nearly every day since last summer. A definite hit!

The Hungry Caterpillar is a great book. The board book version can be thoroughly enjoyed by the youngest audience. Some other awesome pop-up/activity books are called "Moo" and "Cat" by Van Fleet. He may have a couple more, too.

Also keep in mind that really the favorite things are not toys. =) Right now, Heidi is thrilled to pieces with a pile of curly ribbon pieces that I gave her. Quite a lot of time is spent putting them into things and dumping them back out again. She also has some "prized" used up gift cards that she keeps in her purse and loves to play with. Anything that seems like it is yours, will probably be a hit. =)

These aren't toys, but you really need to get some Aden & Anais swaddle blankets. And, if you plan to nurse, a Boppy pillow makes it a lot easier on your back.

I wish you all the best in your pregnancy, new home, wife, and mommy adventure!
